The definitive theme in the Lakeside Garden is water and its relationship to the land.  This area is therefore laid out to cater for a variety of uses.  The whole family is encouraged to “experience” the water – not only in the literal sense but also through the different ways in which the water has an impact on the visitors. 

At the same time, visitors to the Lakeside Garden will be offered a wide range of activities to try out for themselves, from “action” to quiet and relaxation.  The different sections are cleverly separated from one another by functional green boundaries.

From traditional Mecklenburg cuisine to coffee and cakes, the restaurant in the Lakeside Garden offers everything you need for your physical wellbeing.  To the unobtrusive strains of coffee shop music, you can enjoy the panoramic view from the terrace across Lake Schwerin to Leezen.  In the opposite direction the main tower of Schwerin Castle, surrounded by a multitude of smaller turrets and embellishments, rises majestically above the unique orangery.

Here the children can romp around and go swimming while the adults relax on the sun deck to the sound of the birds twittering.
 
Because of the incomparable location of the BUGA gardens by the water, one obvious answer is a pontoon link that will enable visitors to enjoy the experience of walking straight across Castle Bay from the Lakeside Garden to the Stables Garden and will also allow them to compare all the different landscape and garden designs directly with one another.
